Collins Chibunna Nwachukwu reads "Lost in Despair" and "Let Pan-Africanism Lead", two of his poems. Collins gave the readings on 17 October 2024 at an online event hosted by Forced Migration and The Arts, CivicLeicester and Regularise as part of the Africa Migration Report Poetry Anthology Series.[1] "Lost in Despair" and "Let Pan-Africanism Lead" are featured in "Japa Fire: An Anthology of Poems on African and African Diasporic Migration" (CivicLeicester, 2024)[2], the first collection in the series.

ABOUT THE POET

Collins Chibunna Nwachukwu is a Nigerian and a Pan-African. Some of his works appear in anthologies, among them, Love Birds (2024, an Indian publication), Words Are Forever (2023, India), Spirit Anthology (a Radha Krishna publication, India), Achebe, The Soul Brother (7th edition of the publication of the Young Society of Nigerian Writers, Anambra state chapter, Nigeria). Others appear in magazines such as the Fringe Poetry Magazine (2024 edition, UK), and Mount Kenyan Times e-magazines (2023). He has garnered several awards and certificates of participation and excellence in several online literary groups. A lover of music and musical instruments and a topnotch goalkeeper, Collins holds a (BA in Mass Communication) from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, and an (MA in Communication and Language Arts) from the University of Ibadan.

ABOUT THE POETRY ANTHOLOGY SERIES

The Africa Migration Report Poetry Anthology Series is a multi-year, multi-volume initiative that is publishing poetry anthologies exploring themes around African and African diasporic migration and (im)mobility. The series was inspired by the "Africa Migration Report: 2nd Edition" published by the African Union Commission and International Organisation for Migration in March 2024.[3]
