ITBP Seizes 108 Gold Bars Weighing 108 Kg Near Indo-China Border In Ladakh; 3 Arrested | Top News

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) has made a significant seizure near the India-China border in Eastern Ladakh. During a long-range patrolling operation in the southern subsector, the ITBP seized 108 gold bars weighing 108.060 kg and arrested two individuals. The operation covered areas including Chismule, Narbula Top, Zakle, and Zakla. The ITBP team was deployed to prevent infiltration and smuggling along the border. The patrol party apprehended the suspects, who initially claimed to be collecting medicinal plants but were later found in possession of a large quantity of gold and other items. The arrested individuals, identified as Tenzin Targy, 40, and Tsering Chamba, 69, are Indian nationals. The seized gold bars and the arrested individuals have been handed over to customs authorities for further investigation.
