A progressive city with traditional small town advantages located at the edge of the Allegheny National Forest and the Allegany State Park. First known as “littletown” the city has a strong history of timber, oil production and manufacturing.

The Bradford National Historic District features an eclectic mix of building styles from the 1800s to the 1900s. The Main Street Moviehouse is located in a prime of example of Art Deco architecture — the Hooker Fulton Building. An active Main Street Program and Office of Economic and Community Development makes this a great place to do business.

As the birthplace of the Zippo lighter, the Zippo/Case Museum is located in Bradford and welcomes visitors from around the world. American Refining Group is the oldest operating oil refinery in the world and is located along Rt. 219 just north of the City. Penn Brad Oil Museum located 3 miles south of the city honors the history of the region as the “high-grade oil metropolis of the world.”

The Tuna Valley Trail Association, and the city parks and recreation amenities which include the Callahan Ice Skating Rink, Callahan Park, and Municipal swimming pool provide year-round recreation for residents. A farmers market is held on Saturday mornings at Old City Hall from May to October.
