Some folks really wanted me to show how to recruit Phillippe so here you go. It's pretty straightforward since you just keep insisting Phillippe is real when he betrays you so that you get his remains. Go back to your apartment to have him setup to regrow. Pass time, talk and feed him, and he'll be good to add to your party after a full day.

You can recruit him in the spore lair and then trigger his betrayal by either leaving or going to the Spore Mother. The first choice is easier (especially if you free no one else) since you can just fight him alone. The only real reason to bring Phillippe to the Spore Mother is if you want the unique game over.

If you do recruit Phillippe via leaving the spore lair do NOT bring him to the Spore Mother after he regrows otherwise he appears as a moth and will betray you again, only this time you won't get his remains even if you pick all the options that would lead to getting them.

While Phillippe is pretty entertaining I didn't really get much use out of them as spore cloud seems to be very inconsistent with affecting critters. Putrefaction is weaker than Lyle's acid attack but if by some miracle spore cloud is on your target they'll get hit with a bunch of status effects (including ones like paralysis). Puffball Burst is really strong assuming you get Phillippe to level 14. I didn't see much of a boost from Consume Ally (it can still affect allies even if they aren't unconscious) and the drawback of needing a full night's rest is pretty meh.

There should be more party interactions from meals but the one with Morton and Roaches is the only one I got. Some interactions with Aster/Lyle involved a blank dialogue box so some of them might be bugged.
