Welcome back to the channel on today’s video we’re gonna be testing out which flux is the best for soldering copper pipe. We got four different types of flux to try out. We have the fluxuator with its pre-filled flux. Laco normally used for many years., power flux and also ever flux. I’ve used three out of four of these products before I never used power flux which I know a lot of plumbers swear by.

I’ve got four bits of pipe with teas and some elbows in a configuration so we can solder some sockets on the verticals. They should give a fair test as the heat is away from each one so they should or heat up the same amount and we’re gonna be using as Normal as we can get the amount of flux and also wipe off the excess so each one should be pretty much as the same as the next.

I’ll be using the soldering touch from bernzomatic with the cool tip from rothenberg. This for symbolise the more generic set up that most plumbers would use you might have seen me use the smaller head torch before but on 22 mm you do have to work it a bit harder.

After sold runner or four sockets, I feel that the flux inside the fluxuator burns a little bit hot what I mean by that is that I feel that it melts and evaporates really quickly so sometimes the soda doesn’t like flowing where it’s been the rest of the fluxes seem to work pretty much the same they all heated up lovely and a soda round round as you can see we didn’t have any soda drips whatsoever on each one and I’ve left them for overnight to see what happens when you leave the fitting and cleaned.

So the verdict is that everflux leaves the cleanest finish there is no green left on the flux runs whatsoever all three overs have that and the pipework generally looks the cleanest without even being wiped or polished.
