When you write a definition paper, keep in mind the following points:
A definition paper discusses abstract terms, the denotative and especially connotative meanings of which are different.
A definition paper answers the question “What is…?”
It presents the essential nature and the qualities of the discussed subject and shows how it is different from others.
It usually turns out to be an expression of opinion or attitude.
A definition papers does not follow any pattern.
A definition paper may be either deductive or inductive.
The deductive essay begins with a definition which followed by other expository patterns.
The inductive essay reaches the definition after employing any of other methods of development.
