This is our current application of the Lafayette Grooved Pegboard Test. We test each hand twice and alternate as stated below. It's important to make sure the patient places the pegs left to right with their right hand, and right to left with their left hand. They cannot move down a row until a full row is completed.

Not mentioned in the video and not mentioned to the patient: we record dropped pegs during each trial. This can include when a patient:
-Accidentally grabs multiple pegs and drops one
-Drops a peg when moving their hand to the peg hole
-Fails to place the peg properly in the hole and drops it
-Fails to release the peg properly in the hole and lifts it back out

1) Dominant hand: top row practice for familiarity (left to right if right-handed, right to left if left-handed)
2) Dominant hand: trial 1 full board
3) Non-dominant hand: top row practice for familiarity
4) Non-dominant hand: trial 1 full board
5) Dominant hand: trial 2 full board
6) Non-dominant hand: trial 2 full board

Two trials per hand are performed during each examination to eliminate a potential familiarity effect accounting for a re-examination’s improved time.
