How Hawaii became American

#Hawaii used to be the pacific island paradise for the native Kanaka Maoli people, before Europeans and American came to disturb the peace in the late 17th century. From this moment, it took 180 years of struggle, oppression and exploitation for Hawaii to be incorporated into the union of the United States. As the last of the 50 states, Hawaii is like no other state before, positioned in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, boasting beautiful beaches and a rich Polynesian culture and #History.

In this video we will explore the history of Hawaii from its geological origin to the Kingdom and Republic of Hawaii, the attacks on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii joining the United states until the Hawaii State Constitutional Convention in 1978.
