Are Aliens Out There? | Fermi Paradox

Описание к видео Are Aliens Out There? | Fermi Paradox

There are about 100 billion stars in the Milky Way, and astronomers estimate that for each of those stars there's a rocky planet out there. We find life here on Earth in the strangest places: deep in the near freezing waters of the Mariana Trench, frozen in million year old ice in Antarctica, and in the highly acidic pools at Yellowstone. It took 4 billion years for life like that to evolve into the species we know today on Earth, including humans ourselves—beings capable of space flight and radio communication. So given that the universe is 13.8 billion years old, that's plenty of time for life on other planets to evolve. Which begs the question: why can't we find alien life?
