Santa Cruz de La Palma is the capital city of the island of La Palma, Canary Islands. It's a bustling port town that receives multiple cruise ship visitors each week to explore its picturesque ancient streets. A beautiful black sand beach runs parallel to the city and is perfect for a year-round swim.

There are countless boutique shops set in wonderful ancient buildings. While walking down the cobbled streets of the old town you will find yourself pleasantly surprised time and again by the numerous plazas, quaint churches, and historic architecture. In the center of the city, there is a covered market hall with stalls of local produce, such as vegetables, local wines, cheeses, and honey.

There are many museums to visit throughout the city, such as the naval museum which is well worth a visit, as it is set inside a replica of one of Columbus's caravels.
