Ever wonder why there are no mosquitoes at Disney World?? Maybe you never thought if it before! Join me in today's video about how they keep those pests at bay!

As I have Papular Urticaria - Also known as Skeeter Syndrome - I LOVE that I never get bitten by mosquitos as Disney World. One the rare occasion that I have, my reactions have been significantly less than the normal extreme itch, welts and bruising I normally experience off Disney property.

My papular urticaria is a bit different than others as it's not just the saliva that I'm allergic to, it's also the film mosquitos develop in order to protect themselves from disease when they bite. Weird. I know.

Walt Disney and MIT graduate and engineering expert Major General William “Joe” Potter met during the 1964 World’s Fair. During their conversations at the World’s Fair, Potter mentioned his background in controlling mosquitoes.

Walt “hired him on the spot” and put him in charge of keeping mosquitoes out of the expansive theme park Walt was planning on building in central Florida.

After all, Walt Disney World is built on swamp land!
