Realistic Watercolor painting of Golden Retriever

Описание к видео Realistic Watercolor painting of Golden Retriever

Hello! This is another high-speed video to share the process of making a realistic watercolor portrait. This commissioned portrait is of Kody, a Golden Retriever. His owners had to say goodbye when he was just five years old, and he is greatly missed. He was a good boy who brought lots of joy to his family, and my only hope is that this portrait brings a bit of joy again.

I do paint in many sizes, but this one is on 9in x 12in paper. Each portrait takes me many hours and layers, which is why I always do these videos in high-speed. I have other videos that have more instruction if you want more details. My process requires lots of layers with subtle color variations and values, gradually using less and less water in my paint mixtures as the layers go. Plus a lot of time and love :) Please contact me if interested in a portrait for yourself!

Materials used:
Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolor Paint
Arches 140lb cold-pressed, acid-free watercolor paper
Various brushes, my favorite is a set of kolinsky brushes in size 8 and 6 from Billy Showell
