The Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives has called on the Federal Government to suspend implementation of the newly enacted tax laws pending investigations into alleged alterations of the version passed by the National Assembly and assented to by the President.

In a joint statement signed by Kingsley Chinda and three others, the caucus expressed support for ongoing legislative investigations aimed at uncovering those allegedly involved in illegal modifications, gazetting, and circulation of altered copies to the public.

The Minority Caucus vowed to ensure that any illegality is exposed and the culprits are held accountable in the interest of justice for all Nigerians. Meanwhile, the caucus has urged citizens to disregard any purported tax laws circulating without the official signatures of the Clerk of the National Assembly and the President.
