This video will teach you how to tie five of the best knots out there for terminal tackle, including the Uni Knot, the Trilene Knot, the Palomar Knot, the San Diego Jam Knot, and the Centauri Knot! Follow along step-by-step to learn the keys to each knot and the mistakes to avoid. All of these knots are excellent for connecting terminal tackle like a hook, swivel, or weight to your leader line, and can be used for braid, monofilament (mono), or fluorocarbon (fluoro) fishing line. So if you want to learn how to tie on a hook with some of the strongest, fastest, and easiest fishing knots out there, this video will show you the tricks to tie them quickly and effectively! These knots rank among some of the strongest fishing knots out there such as the Pitzen Knot, FishnFool Knot, or even Snell Knots, which are roughly the terminal tackle equivalents of the strongest line-to-line connections like the FG Knot, SG Knot, Double Uni Knot, Albright Knot, or Alberto Knot!
These knots can be commonly used on the terminal end of paternoster rigs, double drop rigs, chicken rigs, pompano rigs, fish-finder or carolina rigs, and several others. They are some of the strongest and most widely used fishing knots which are easy/fast to tie and can be used to catch anything from trout, perch, panfish, bluegill, largemouth or smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, muskie, salmon, red snapper, mahi mahi, shark, tuna, snook, grouper, red and black drum, flounder, sheepshead, trigger fish, mackerel... basically anything you catch with a hook can be caught using these knots! They can be used in saltwater fishing, whether offshore in the ocean or inshore fishing, or can be used in lakes, rivers, or even ice fishing! Subscribe for more knots and tips, and thanks for watching!
Quick disclaimer: These are but one of many methods to successfully tie these knots, and happen to be some of the best ways I've found! I hope they work equally well for you, but if they don't, or if you have found something else that works better, I encourage you to stick to what works for you! I would always recommend practicing knots and testing their strength yourself to ensure you are comfortable with how they work, and to avoid flinging lures into the ocean on a failed knot (ask me how I know!). Knots take practice, so make sure you're comfortable with whatever you're tying prior to trusting it with your gear! If you have any questions about these knots, please post them below and I will do my best to answer them. I hope this is helpful, and tight lines!
