Cicada Superbrood & Suburban Landscape Critique

Описание к видео Cicada Superbrood & Suburban Landscape Critique

In Chicago we witness an epic "superbrood" as a result of convergent emergence of the 13 year and 17 year broods of Magicicada septendecim. Though it sure feels like there are much less than there were during the superbroods of the 90s, we still witness a deafening cacophony of these adorable winged little bastards and we also manage to get in some jabs at suburban landscaping and the lawn cult, as well.

NOTE: Correct spelling of the fungus is Massospora cicadina, not "cycadina". Autopredict hath screwed me again and I'm too lazy to re-upload.

Your contributions support this content. It sounds cliché but it's true. Whether it's travel expenses, vehicle repair, or medical costs for urushiol poisoning (or rockfalls, beestings, hand slices, toxic sap, etc), your financial support allows this content to continue so the beauty of Earth's flora can be made accessible to the rest of us in the degenerate public. At a time when so much is disappearing beneath the human footprint, CPBBD is willing to do whatever it takes to document these plant species and the ecological communities they are a part of before they're gone for good.
