There will be no gatekeeping for good ideas, so I’m just going to share my exact steps.

I am rebuilding my own art business from scratch this year, and one of my goals is to set up a drop shipping through Etsy - I have enough paintings to turn into prints, and I’ve been looking for digitising solutions and breaking my head over it, like many other artists.

I don’t have a professional camera to photograph, but I did invest in a simple scanner (Epson V39), very inexpensive - which was recommended to me by one of my students, for which I am so grateful! And I scanned my painting on 2400 dpi quality to be able to scale it as much as possible.

The original painting was 20x20 cm (8x8’’) and the print you’re looking at is 70x70 cm (27-28’’). I think it’s the maximum scaling I could do with this scan, but it’s pretty good anyway!

The print was done with Gelato, it’s one of their premium semi-glossy poster options.

So the steps are: 1) scan in highest possible quality 2) color correction and cleaning in photoshop 3) printing. Easy enough!
