This was initially only posted to TikTok where I have a larger Canadian audience, but I wanted to share it here too. The emergence and popularization of alt-right ideals in Canada is terrifying to me. As a woman, the idea that anyone would want to restrict the life saving healthcare that is abortions is absurd. Women need abortions for many reasons, and ALL of those reasons are valid. Denying a fully fledged human being the right to choose what happens to their body over the potential for another person to live is barbaric. It feels akin to forced organ donations while you are living - sure you might die, but think of the people you MIGHT save!

The conservative party is showing their true colours here and telling us exactly what their plans are. Please listen to them. Canada is far from perfect, but "wanting a change" is exactly how Trump got into power, and Pierre Poilievre is cut from the same cloth. You can no longer be "fiscally conservative, socially liberal" in Canada. You either believe in human rights, LGBT rights, and abortion rights, or you care about the ultra wealthy at the detriment of everyone else.
