2015 Subaru Forester Rear wheel hub wheel stud replacement

Описание к видео 2015 Subaru Forester Rear wheel hub wheel stud replacement

Replacing wheel studs on rear wheel hub of a Subaru Forester 2.5i awd. Broke 2 of 3 after a flat tire and had the vehicle towed. Then bought parts online and replaced at home. The mechanic quoted $350. I spent $60 ( I bought some specialty tools for easy install) you could actually get the job done for $2.99 per stud and $2.99 per lug.

From wheel up to wheel done I was done in 25min. Plan for 1hour if you’ve never done it before to ensure you go slow and double check your work.

Tools
19mm socket
14mm socket
13mm socket
Socket wrench
Impact wrench ( not required)
Dorman wheel studs
Acorn wheel lug nuts
Rubber mallet ( 2x4 works too for hammering)
Metal hammer
Anti seize grease
Jack
Gloves
Lubricant grease for wheel stud installed to hole

Tips
Have a spare ( throw away lug nut)
buy grade 8 studs ( dorman ) not Subaru brand
Buy the wheel stud installer tool. I used a large nut it slipped and had the lug strip a stud and had to stay over
Don’t apply the e-brake ( parking brake)
Use the factory jack, stable fits well, fast on /off
Borrow a compressor and impact wrench with 19mm socket ( can be done by hand) just so much easier with the right tools.
