On the first day, Mata Rukmini colors Krishna—a playful stroke of love, a gentle defiance. The air hums with laughter, the sky blushes with powdered hues, & Krishna stands there, drenched in her affection. And then the chase begins. For the next seven days, Krishna tries to color Rukmini. He hides behind palace pillars, leaps into courtyards, & plots with the Yadavas. The colors swirl around her, but she remains untouched—graceful, effortless, untouchable. The colors obey her. The winds whisper her secret. The whole city watches as Krishna, the master of leela, is outplayed in His own game. But then, on the last day, something shifts

द्वारका में होली केवल रंगों का उत्सव नहीं, अपितु प्रेम, चपलता एवं दिव्य युगल नृत्य की अनूठी लीला है। यहाँ यह पर्व एक सप्ताह पूर्व ही प्रारंभ हो जाता है।
प्रथम दिवस, माता रुक्मिणी अपने श्रीकृष्ण को रंगों में रंग देती हैं—यह प्रेम का कोमल स्पर्श है, एक मधुर परिहास। गगन हर्षध्वनि से गूँज उठता है, वातावरण में हास्य और अनुराग व्याप्त हो जाता है, और श्रीकृष्ण, रुक्मिणी के प्रेम में भीगे, निश्चल खड़े रहते हैं। और यहीं से आरंभ होती है उनकी सात दिवसीय होली की लीला।
श्रीकृष्ण रुक्मिणी को रंगने हेतु प्रयत्नशील होते हैं—राजमहल के स्तंभों के पीछे छिपते हैं, प्रांगणों में छलांग लगाते हैं, यादवों संग युक्तियाँ रचते हैं। रंगों की बौछार होती है, किंतु रुक्मिणी अप्रभावित बनी रहती हैं—सौम्य, निर्लेप, अविजित। रंग उनके चरणों तक पहुँचते हैं, किंतु उन्हें स्पर्श करने का साहस नहीं कर पाते। पवन उनके रहस्य को साक्षी मानकर फुसफुसाता है। संपूर्ण नगरी निहारती है कि कैसे लीला पुरुषोत्तम स्वयं अपनी ही रची लीला में पराजित हो रहे हैं।
किन्तु अंतिम दिवस एक परिवर्तन होता है। सात दिनों तक रंगों से अछूती रुक्मिणी स्वयं आगे बढ़ती हैं। उनके नेत्र श्रीकृष्ण से मिलते हैं, अधरों पर एक गूढ़ मुस्कान प्रकट होती है। और उसी क्षण, वे स्वेच्छा से उनके रंग में रंग जाने का चयन कर लेती हैं।
और फिर, सम्पूर्ण द्वारका उल्लास से झूम उठती है—यह केवल होली का उत्सव नहीं, अपितु उस प्रेम की विजय है जो बाध्य नहीं करता, अपितु स्वतः समर्पण की प्रतीक्षा करता है। सच्चा प्रेम पीछा नहीं करता, वह प्रतीक्षा करता है—उस पावन क्षण की, जब हृदय स्वयं को पूर्णतः, हर्षपूर्वक, एवं संपूर्ण समर्पण के साथ अर्पित कर देता है। और उसी क्षण, रुक्मिणी, श्रीकृष्ण की होली बन जाती हैं।
