I bought my filters in boxes of 20 and paid about $20 each.
I slowly walk through the steps of changing all 3 sediment filters. These hold the 4.5-in wide filters that are 20-in long.
I was quoted $250 for the job including filters but did it for much less. I turned off the water into and out from the filters. Make sure to release the pressure at this point. Using the wrench loosen the canister and remove the filter. Wipe out the canister, clean the rubber seal and replace the filter. Add lubricant on the o-ring and replace it back into the slot on the canister. Tighten the housing and repeat this until all the filters have been replaced. Turn the water back on into the filters and allow them to fill almost all the way to the top, then release the air pressure to prevent it from entering the pipes to your building. Once most of the air is out, turn the valve back on allowing the water to enter the building. Keep an eye out for leaks.
