Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Lippert Ground Control TT powered leveling jacks on a 2022 Grand Design Imagine. Now this is gonna be a huge benefit for any of you at campsites that are tired of having to level out your trailer. It cuts into not only setting up the campsite to where your camper's perfectly level, but also having to raise all those jacks up. This can all be done at a touch of a button, and that's where this comes into play. And once you get to your campsite, you unhook your vehicle, you can hit auto level, and it's gonna start doing all the adjustments by itself. So it does take about three minutes or so.
It's pretty slow, and it's gonna make micro adjustments as it goes, but that's gonna make sure that it's perfectly level, and during that time, that's a lot of time savings from the alternative of leveling it yourself. So while everyone else is fighting to get their camper level, you can enjoy a nice, frosty cold beverage, or continue setting up your campsite. Either way, it sure takes out a lot of unnecessary work that you can solve with this system. Our neighbor had this camper with the power stabilizers from Lippert already installed, and they do a great job. It's really nice to have them powered.
You don't have to monkey around with any tools. It's just a flip of a switch and these are gonna lower down. The issue is, is anytime you go to a campsite, they're generally not super flat, and so you do need to level out your trailer, and that's where the ground control really comes into play. It takes all the guesswork out, you can really just park it, hit a button, and it's gonna do all the leveling for you. And the difference between the powered stabilizers and these ones here is they are built in.
They go to a touchscreen unit that's able to really give you feedback of what's happening. It also comes with a powered nose jack, which is gonna be really nice, because that also plays ball with the leveling function, and it allows you to set the hitch height. That way you can push a button whenever you're ready to hook up to your trailer. You'll be able to back up, no problem. Each jack is mounted on your RV by drilling into the I-Beam on the frame.
You have a nice bracket that it all bolts up to. And this is gonna be electric system. There's no hydraulics that you need to run. And the electricity portion of it's super easy, because it's just a plug and play harness that's labeled really well. That way you can get all of them in the proper location. You'll just run to 12 volt power. Now being that these are steel and powder coat, they're gonna hold up long term, but you wanna make sure that this is gonna work with your trailer. These are designed for a gross vehicle weight rating of 10,000 pounds. So make sure that you're not overloading them obviously. Now having the control inside of our panel is really nice. You get a nice digital readout of what's going on, and really at the push of a button, once you get everything dialed in, it's gonna auto level for you. You can also do it from your phone using the app from Lippert, which is really cool. That means no matter what, you always have that controller ready to go on your phone. Now being that it's electric, sometimes issues happen, and if you're worried that you're gonna be stuck, not able to put your jacks down, not to worry, you still have manual adjusting. It comes with the tool, also required to be able to manually adjust your jacks down and up. With the kit, not only do you get the four jacks for each corner of your trailer, but the powered tongue jack is a really nice one. It's got a built-in light, so that's really good for hooking up at nighttime. You have a little spotlight here to see exactly where you're gonna be. So overall, getting a new powered tongue jack is a really nice one, especially one that plays ball with this entire system. The touchscreen has a lot of different features, a lot of settings that you can adjust, and this is gonna be the brains of the operation to really get it dialed into whatever you need. But you also have this panel here with a few buttons that it's gonna be a little bit more simple. We mounted it in this comp
