More information about the video content bellow:
1. Schleswig-Holstein is the northernmost of the 16 states of Germany. Danish, German, Low German and North Frisian are the official languages of the state. Schleswig-Holstein combines Danish and German aspects of culture.

2. Schleswig-Holstein is a state of germany now but wasn't originally one before. Schleswig-Holstein didn't really matter until the mid thirteenth century when it rose up as a principality. It is said that its the median between Germany and Denmark and will be forever undivided between the two. Only because the two countries keep fighting over who it belongs to. The two countries have an agreement about Schleswig and so right now it belongs to Germany and the relationship between Germany and Denmark right now is good so they don't fight over it right now and hopefully not in the future.

3. Kiel is the capital and most populous city in the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein. Kiel has become one of the major maritime centres of Germany. For instance, the city is known for a variety of international sailing events, including the annual Kiel Week, which is the biggest sailing event in the world. Kiel Fjord and the village of Kiel was probably first settled by Vikings who wanted to colonise the land that they had raided, and for many years they settled in German villages.

4. Lübeck is a city in Schleswig-Holstein. Because of its extensive Brick Gothic architecture, it is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Much of the old town has kept a medieval appearance with old buildings and narrow streets. At one time the town could only be entered via any of four town gates, of which today two remain, the well-known Holstentor (1478) and the Burgtor (1444).

5. The northern state has the largest national park in central Europe - the Wadden Sea National Park. The park incorporates part of the largest area of tidal flats in the world and has been an UNESCO World Heritage site since 2009.

6. Wacken Open Air becomes a shanty town filled with around 75,000 metal heads every August and things tend to get muddy... very muddy. It also has a rather spectacular looking classical festival, held this year in August. The Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival is staged in castles, palaces and churches around the state.

7. In 2014, Schleswig-Holstein became the first German state to cover 100 percent of its energy needs through renewable energy. With steady winds blowing in off the North Sea, the state creates most of its energy via wind turbines.
