I’ve been scouring the Internet in search of a place in Tampa that offers an authentic head spa treatment and came across this AAPI and woman-owned business in Brandon that specializes and trains in a Vietnamese service called gội đầu dưỡng sinh.

Head spa treatments have been gaining popularity in the U.S., and various Asian cultures have their own take on the service that rejuvenates the scalp and promotes hair growth. I booked the 90-min. Super Relaxing Head Spa treatment at Cindy Phan Brows in Brandon, and really enjoyed it — it was so relaxing and incredibly thorough! It's $149 for a 90-min. hands on service.

A few things to note: There's no scalp analysis here, that's more of a Japanese head spa offering. And they introduce steam to your scalp at the Luxury Head Spa treatment level, which is 120 mins. and $209. The treatments aren't done in individual private rooms — this is something that would bother me, but honestly, with your head in a basin, the running water is all you really hear, and you're immersed in your own little world.
