Channel Islands and the Gudauskas brothers have collaborated on a few surfboard models now, the latest is the Channel Islands G Skate, which could be the most fun yet!

All three brothers, Pat, Dane and Tanner worked with head shaped Britt Merrick to create a stoke provoking surfboard that is aimed to be a utility surfboard that fits any surfers quiver. Giving the perfect mixture of fun and performance the G Skate from Channel Islands features a tight, pulled in swallow tail with a visible hip. This runs up to a fuller outline with the wide point centre of forward to allow the board to carry speed in mushy waves and generate speed and give a skate like feel.

Having three elite level surfers behind the design of the board, it was imperative that the G Skate has ability and performance that allows world class surfers to really flair- they nailed this. Watch the clips of the brothers and even M Feb taking and testing the G Skate to its limits. The genius part with all of this is that the performance is accessible to surfers like you and I, not just pro's! You do not need to be a world class free surfer or WSL level to get the board flowing and driving through turns.

Rocking a very subtle single to double concave, fitted with contemporary rail profiles and a flat rocker and low entry point the Channel Islands G Skate Surfboard has speed from the first moment your toes hit the wax. The rail line and profile will give any surf the ability to drawn accurate lines and this is a board that will go wherever you attempt to drive it on a wave.

Primarily the G Skate has been designed to be surfed with a twin plus trailer to allow a feeling of speed and flow. Use fins like the Rasta Twin plus trailer set to really light this board up! If you are a devoted thruster rider, this still works. Use the AM template tri fins and you get more control, also this could be a great option for the days the surf is bigger.

If you are a improving intermediate level surfer picking the G Skate would be great- size it up a little to allow the higher wave count and control. If you are a decent level surfer and above, trust the design and outline, match or only just go above your daily driver volume and you'll get the most versatile version of the G Skate. You can size up a couple of litres to make the most of smaller swells.
