How to Make Dual L-Ported Subwoofer Box - DIY

Описание к видео How to Make Dual L-Ported Subwoofer Box - DIY

Another easiest and quickest subwoofer box to make, but this time its a dual 10" subwoofer box, having dual L-port chambers inside leading to a single port outside. Haven't tried two pieces 10 inches subwoofer before so I go ahead purchased a couple of JBL Club 1024 10" subwoofers. These JBL Club series subwoofers are a revamp to the discontinued JBL S2 series subwoofers. They have new look, new construction, new rubber cover on the magnets and higher power handling but same Thiele/Small parameters as of the S2 series. Fs, Qes, Qts, Vas and etc.. all just the same.

Detailed timeline of the project:
00:00 - Unboxing two JBL Club 1024 subwoofers.
00:12 - Tinkercad design and layout link - https://www.tinkercad.com/things/0rSX...
00:25 - Box-Port Design II software on Windows. Take note of the Box Volume and Tuning.
00:35 - RE Audio L-Ported speaker box calculator link - http://reaudio.com/box.php
00:45 - Getting a fresh sheet of MDF at a local hardware called Citihardware
00:52 - Check out my DIY circular saw dust collection port!
00:58 - Long process of cutting down the MDF sheet to size.
01:20 - Cutting holes on MDF panel for the subwoofer using a trim router.
01:35 - Cutting the port hole and edge routing using a roundover bit to give it a nicer look and smooth feel. My DIY router table is massively put into use in all this routing process! Sleek!
02:05 - Routing a small inner notch in the back side of port hole for carpet seam insert.
02:25 - Gluing all panels together.
02:38 - Gluing and assembling two pieces L-ports. Roundover routing the edges to give a smooth air flow inside the box.
03:00 - Cutting a shallow and small groove in the middle of the box just between and under the port panels. This will hide the speaker wire from being seen in the port opening.
03:45 - Cutting, drilling and routing some scrap of MDF for the inner braces.
05:10 - M6 T-nuts and carbon steel Allen head bolts are the strongest subwoofer fasteners in the world!
05:25 - Church the cutest French bulldog is here to help.
05:40 - Gluing the last piece of the box in place, the top panel.
05:55 - Back breaking carpeting task starts here. Charcoal black carpet is a nice match to JBL Club 1024's.
06:30 - Inserting the carpet seam into the routed notch. Then cut excess carpet using box cutter blade to give it a tucked look and finish.
06:55 - The last and the most favorite part: Wiring and bolting down the subwoofer drivers in place. Most satisfying job on the entire project!
07:25 - Testing the final impedance using a digital multimeter.
07:35 - Finished product showcase.

I hope you all like how the subwoofer turns out because I do. And please consider subscribing to my channel to get updates on future uploads. Thanks very much and have a good weekend to all of you.
