“Song Stylings by the Forward In Faith Trio”
“The Ministers on Campus” is the fourth LP by the Forward in Faith
Trio. One of the most versatile gospel groups in America today, The
Ministers sing principally on FORWARD IN FAITH, international radio
program of their Church. They have accepted a limited number of engage-
ments at youth rallies, Bible camps, business men’s fellowships, churches,
as well as some social and business groups. Meanwhile each pursues an
important career as a churchman.
Baritone Don Aultman is known nationally as a foremost youth leader,
dynamic preacher, and lucid writer. Musically he provides The Ministers
their scintillating sound with unexcelled male trio arrangements that
emphasize the best of the old and new in gospel music. Don plays an
excitingly rhythmic piano for the Trio in their personal appearances.
Second tenor Bennie Triplett, is known musically for his famous
“How About Youi' Heart,” “Go Down to the Jordan,” and dozens of other
favorites. On this album the Trio presents three new Triplett compositions:
“Love,” “He’s Concerned,” and “Trust in the Lord.” Having an ever-
widening career, Bennie is known internationally as the Program Director
and announcer for FORWARD IN FAITH. Audiences across America
know him as one of the finest young pulpiteers of our day.
The third Minister is tenor Roosevelt Miller. He has no peer as a
gospel singer. An established soloist, Roosevelt’s brilliant tenor gives a
thrilling sound to every song The Ministers sing. An instructor in voice
at Lee College, Cleveland, Tennessee, he also is the regular soloist on
FORWARD IN FAITH. He, too, is in demand as a preacher and singer.
His summer is spent in Bible, music and youth camps. Roosevelt writes
songs with melodies everybody loves to sing. An example is “I Have No
Fear,” introduced on this album.
Dr. Delton Alford assisted in the musical direction of the album.
Wife of Dr. Alford, Myrna Alford, is the pianist and Winona Aultman,
wife of Don Aultman, is organist. Dr. Alford, a Ph.D. in music, is head
of the Lee College Music Department and musical director for FORWARD
IN FAITH.
“The Ministers on Campus” presents songs especially enjoyed by the
collegiate set. Their numerous appearances at Lee College inspired the
album title. The beautiful cover picture was taken at Hughes Fountain
in front of the Lee College administration building.
