Tata Motors’ new sub-four metre sedan, the Tigor is a bit smaller in size than it rivals more established rivals like the Honda Amaze, Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Hyundai Xcent and Ford's Aspire. And, under the skin it may be distantly related to Tata’s segment pioneering Indigo eCS, and it is expected to follow a similarly sensible approach in terms of price as well. But that aside, this Tiago based is promising a far richer experience. It has been made longer, and has a bigger wheelbase as well. Handsome styling and segment leading features will help it stand out as well.

The Tigor aims to wow customers where it matters, and that is the actual benefit of owning a sedan. A 419 litre boot and a backseat with extra room are some highlights. The Tigor is offered with the same 1.2 litre Revotron petrol engine and the 1.05 Revotorq diesel engine. Both engines are offered with 5-speed manual transmissions only. But how well does it all come together? Does the Tigor have the substance to get car buyers excited about brand Tata, and sub-4 metre sedans once again?
