Welcome to the first video in this new series, which will be included in the Bonsai from Native Trees and Shrubs.

Turning to page 50 in the featured book - Bonsai From Native Trees and Shrubs, the first featured Deciduous Tree is a Field Maple - Acer campestre, which indeed is a UK native tree.

Fortunately, I have 3 Field maple trees in development, but they are quite challenging due to how they grow.

They are definitely for experienced bonsai enthusiasts, as a good knowledge of pruning trees that grow with opposite branches is needed to create a pleasing bonsai with a traditional style.
