Passing away September 12, 2021 at the age of 43, I only really met Melissa once, and that was during my pageant here at Miss Venus Continental. Even though she entered one of my pageants, that was the only time, I believe we talked at all. I didn't know she had passed until her closest friend Nina Simone messaged me and told me. The only consolation to the news was that Melissa saw the videos of her that I had uploaded, and they brought her a lot of joy in her final days. I am only sorry I didn't get to talk to her and tell her how I was privileged to have footage of her beauty and talent. From all the comments I read, she is loved and missed by many, especially Nina, and her disabled Mother.
