House and Cuddy || Pain

I honestly believe Cuddy was House's one true love and I truly think he loved her back but sometimes that's just not enough.
He was too self destructive and pain took away too much for them to work. How things went between them makes sense. It makes sense that they tried because they clearly loved each other but anything else other than how it ended would have been unrealistic and out of character for House even if how it ended literally makes me want to cry only if I think about it.

It just hurts that pain destroyed him to the point where even when he wants things to work he simply can't.
Cuddy told him that when he took vicodin he wasn't really with her and his heartbreaking answer was "I wanted to be" and that is just beyond sad because he wanted to be what she needed but he couldn't and he knew it.

It's just who he is but I think he kept loving her and she kept loving him, even after the freaking car thing.

In my perfect world they're happy but the real world sucks so he took vicodin and crashed his damn car in her living room.

I'm fine.
You're fine.
Everything's fine.
