Munir Ahmed Niazi,
April 9, 1928.... December 26, 2006.
was a Punjabi and Urdu poet from Pakistan. He also wrote for newspapers, magazines and radio. In 1960, he established a publication institute, Al-Misal. He was later associated with Pakistan Television, Lahore.
"Munir Niazi was a master of poetic imagery. He was daring enough to experiment with many genres of poetry.
I remember late Ashfaq Ahmad saying that Munir Niazi was a true poet as he wrote poetry all his life and nothing else"
