VW Golf 7 Reversing Camera Retrofit with Kenwood / Garmin System

We Retrofitted A Genuine Volkswagen Emblem Reversing Camera To A Golf MK 7 With Composition & Kenwood / Garmin Navigation Upgrade.

As you may have seen from one of our past videos, we did an UNBOX and also a REVIEW of the Kenwood Garmin Navigation Upgrade for the Volkswagen Composition Media System. One of the great features is that it allows the fitting of a Reversing Camera to work in conjunction with it.

Now we didn't want to use a horrible aftermarket camera but stick to genuine and that's exactly what we did. We converted the OEM Emblem camera to work with an Aftermarket AV-IN on the Kenwood / Garmin System and it worked amazingly well. You get the factory style static lines on screen and the image pops up when you go into reverse on any screen that you're currently on! Pretty cool ey!

Now the only thing to bear in mind is that because it's an AV Source and not going through the normal network of the vehicle we can't code the vehicle to show the genuine Optical Parking Sensors on the screen at the same time like you can do with higher up versions of the Golf 7. They will still beep however and you can also push the parking switch button if you want to see them.

Quite a lot of VW Golf 7s with Composition Media can't actually have a reversing camera fitted at all due to the internal components which is why upgrading it with this Kenwood / Garmin System and a Reversing Camera is a great idea.

If you have one of the above then to get a Reversing Camera installed you will need the Kenwood / Garmin System with reversing camera to go with it.
