‘PM Modi, HM Amit Shah should resign if…’: Kapil Sibal’s bold demand on Women’s Quota Bill

MP Kapil Sibal in the Rajya Sabha, demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah if they do not complete the process of delimitation and implementation of the Women's Reservation Bill by 2029. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday hailed the passage of the historic women reservation bill in the Lok Sabha, and said that it was a "golden moment in India's parliamentary journey." The bill is presently being debated in the Rajya Sabha. On Wednesday, after a 7-hour long marathon debate in the lower House, the women quota bill was passed. The bill will grant 33% seats to women in Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies. A total of 454 MPs voted in favor of the bill, while 2 MPs voted against it. The bill has been named 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam'.
