Day 3: Exploring Meghalaya’s Nongriat Trek | Double Decker Living Root Bridge | Single Decker Living Root Bridge | Nikita Tare
On the third day of our Meghalaya trip, we had breakfast at the hotel before heading to Tyrna village. From there, we embarked on the famous Nongriat trek, which involved descending around 3,000 steps to reach the breathtaking Double Decker Living Root Bridge and the nearby Single Decker Living Root Bridge.
The trek was an absolute delight, as we crossed various bridges spanning lush valleys, including other living root bridges. Along the way, we were treated to the sight of vibrant butterflies and lush greenery.
Upon reaching the Double Decker Living Root Bridge, we soaked our feet in the refreshing water teeming with fish, clicked countless photos, and took some time to relax. Later, we visited the Single Decker Living Root Bridge, where we sat by the flowing river and washed our faces with the cool, crystal-clear water.
On our way back to Tyrna village, we enjoyed some fresh cucumbers and Maggi before getting back into the car to return to our hotel.
