This is a quick demonstration of how the mounts points in a running docker image are connected to the host system. Where they are, and how changes in one are immediately realized in the other.

I stand up a PiHole using a script, then demonstrate how the two mounted directories are present in both, the container and the host. This is what allows docker-style containers to seem to continue to operate seamlessly when they actually are being wholesale replaced during updates.

Major props go out to Jay at LearnLinux on YouTube. I am a long time Linux geek and was considering how best to illustrate this video's premise. I wanted something that worked in real time, and was planning on using a looping script with grep and maybe a file's date or something. But he recently did a video in his Learn Linux about the Watch command that floated into my YT feed. It is exactly the thing I needed! I think I last saw this command back when I was just teething on bash-script and running from T-Rex. So thanks for the reminder of all the good stuff in Linux Jay.
