The Wasp Mill Corliss Tandem Steam Engine At Bolton

Описание к видео The Wasp Mill Corliss Tandem Steam Engine At Bolton

She (her name is Elsie) is a tandem compound engine, that means, both the low and the high pressure cylinder are working in line on the same piston rod with a single crank. The engine dates from 1902 and was built by J. & W. McNaught Ltd, the Corliss specialists at Rochdale. She could do 180 hp @ 75 rpm and was able to drive up to 1000 looms.
All relevant information about Corliss gears you can see in my video, more data about the engine you'll get from the Bolton Steam Museum's homepage http://www.nmes.org/ looking for 'Wasp Mill Tandem'.
Enjoy it and thanks for watching!
