Les Berges du Lac is a district constituting an urban extension of the city of Tunis, capital of Tunisia.

The Berges du Lac territory covers approximately 1,300 hectares. It is positioned between the center of Tunis and the northern suburbs.

Following the development of Lake Tunis in its northern part, from the 1980s, and its progressive backfilling (polder), a new city began to emerge. Project management for the development of the Berges du Lac Nord is granted to the Société de promotion du lac de Tunis (SPLT). This company, created in October 1983, is half-owned by the Tunisian state and the other half by Saudi investors.

The general development program plans to create, on the shores of the lake, three urban areas for a population of 150,000 inhabitants and a pool of 140,000 jobs.

Les Berges du Lac is the cradle of the metropolisation and globalization of the Tunisian economy. The new bourgeoisie of national entrepreneurs appears indeed as a major actor in the realization of the projected city.
