Little Betty keeps up with the other goat kids!

Morning playtime with the goats is always my favorite time of day but this morning was especially sweet! When Betty White the Nigerian Dwarf goat was born her leg was straight out behind her and she had to drag both back legs. It was almost impossible to get any bend, We wondered if she would ever walk. We spent time each day in her first week being the joint and massaging her hip and leg and every day she grew more stable. The hock (knee) is still a bit wonky and she walks a bit bowlegged but today she jumped up on the shavings bale with all the other kids and ran and hopped! So beautiful to see. The vet came today to disked the kids and check them all out and she said with so much improvement, she would just let her continue to grow strength.

Which one is Betty? So great that it is hard to tell now! :) She is multicolored and has a white spot on three of her legs. Her brother looks similar but has gray on his shoulders.
