Analog Input Multiplexing with the 74HC4051
In this simple walkthrough, I explore a simple yet very useful IC which is the 74HC4051 Analog Mux. This IC allows you to take readings from multiple analog sources and channel them through the same pin by using the selector switches. The bottom line is that you can read up to 8 different channels on a single Arduino pin thus optimizing your hardware.

Goals:
To build the hardware which is capable to channel 8 analog inputs into one Arduino pin.
To "sweep" through the 8 signals and store their readings in the Arduino memory.
To monitor the array and verify the functionality of the 8 inputs.

Hardware Required (See detailed list on EEEnthusiast.com):
74HC4051 (or any other Analog MUX)
Potentiometer
Pull-up resistors (10k ohm)
Push Button
Arduino
Jumper Cables
