This recording presents alap, jod, vilambit teentaal and drut teentaal in Raga Charukeshi (aka Carukesi). This Raag is relatively new as it is adopted from Carnatic Music into Hindustani style of music.

Charukeshi is a raga that evokes inexplicable emotions in our hearts and often melts it would be Charukesi. Eternally popular, extremely well-loved by rasikas of all ages and tastes, Charukesi (literally meaning: with beautiful hair) best expresses longings and yearnings in love, piety, and pleading. It blends the Sringara and Bhakthi rasas seamlessly.

This program was organized by Nada Brahma Sangeet Sevashram in Kolkata(2012) and is possibly one of the last live recordings of Pt Kamal Mallick publicly available.
