Prairie Rail 2018: Bill Hirt's HO Scale "CB&Q - Hannibal Division"

Описание к видео Prairie Rail 2018: Bill Hirt's HO Scale "CB&Q - Hannibal Division"

Filmed: 02/18/18

This was my final Operations Session of the 2018 Prairie Rail Invitational. Again, there were actually four sessions in this event, but like I said in the previous two, I only participated in three, skipping the Saturday afternoon session due to prior commitments.

Before we get into this, I had to delete and then re-upload part two of this series as it was hit with a copyright claim. The home owner was playing music in the crew quarters, mainly for some background noise and to keep the atmosphere more relaxed. However it also was prevalent enough on the video that it was flagged and restricted from being viewed in the United States. I tried to fight it, but it didn't work. So I re-edited the video then posted it again. If you left a comment on that video and didn't get a response, I apologize. You can always go back to the re-do and post your comment or questions again. Link for it is below.

As for this video, we are at Bill Hirt's amazing CB&Q - Hannibal Division HO scale layout. The layout is set on Burlington's K Line from St. Louis to West Quincy, Missouri, in late summer 1963. The MKT has trackage rights from St. Louis to Machens, Missouri. Interchange occurs with the Hannibal Connecting and Wabash at Hannibal, Missouri, the GM&O at Louisiana, Missouri, and the MKT at West Alton, Missouri.

Eighteen to 20 trains run in a session, including two passenger, two to three locals, an ore train, a coal train to Union Electric power plant at Machens, Missouri, and several through freights. The railroad features loads of old 1st Generation power in both the black & gray, and the newer red & gray schemes, in addition to the off-white paint scheme seen on the old F units. Bill runs the layout using Digitraxx DCC system.

Next week we'll be back to Jon Percy's Buffalo & Pittsburgh for an Ops session that I did not participate in, I decided to just film. I did operate the following Sunday though, however I did not film it. I just wanted to play trains that day. Wednesday I'll have the second part of the railfanning video I posted last Wednesday, then after that, we'll just have to see what comes up. But I do have quite a bit in the works, so stay tuned and see you next time.

Thanks for watching!
