Braille Basics Part 3: Tracking Sheets

Описание к видео Braille Basics Part 3: Tracking Sheets

In order to help new Braille readers start to build their tactile discrimination sense, our Vision Rehabilitation Therapists may create tracking sheets. Tracking sheets are made up of lines of Braille, each line containing a few symbols of Braille separated by what we call a tracking line. When reading in Braille, the reader starts on the left side of the sheet just like a print reader! The reader then “tracks” their two index fingers across the page to the right. The goal of these sheets is for the reader to start to tell the difference between a symbol of Braille and the tracking line! This is the first step to tactically reading Braille.
