Hector sat down beside her and began speaking as if he had rehearsed the words many times: "I won't beat around the bush. I have another woman whom I love. I plan to build a life with her, so you need to leave my life and this apartment as soon as possible."
Lida dropped her comb in shock, feeling as though she had been doused with icy water. She was so stunned that she couldn't utter a word. Her heart seemed to stop.
"You're leaving me?" she whispered, her voice trembling. "You have someone else, and you're willing to throw away everything we have?"
"Please, let's not make a scene," Hector replied coldly. "I've made it clear that I have another woman and no longer need you. You should start packing your things now."
"So, you're kicking me out of our home?" Lida asked, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"This is my home, not yours," Hector stated firmly.
Lida sobbed loudly, unable to contain her emotions. "Hector, let's sit down and talk about this calmly. Maybe there's something I can do to fix things?"
"There's nothing to discuss. Pack your things and leave. I don't want to see you anymore."
"But where will I go? You know I have nowhere to go!" Lida cried out.
"Find a place to stay. That's not my problem. I want you out of the apartment by tonight," Hector said, leaving the room.
Lida collapsed onto the floor, her face buried in her hands as she wept. She felt as though a knife had been plunged into her back. After a few moments, she began to gather her belongings, her heart heavy with sorrow.
She had been married to Hector for six years and truly loved him, believing him to be a worthy and loving husband. Their marriage had seemed strong and unbreakable, making his confession all the more shocking.
Lida called a friend and asked if she could stay the night. With tears in her eyes and a broken heart, she left the apartment where she had spent six happy years, hoping until the last moment that Hector would stop her. But he didn't.
Hector watched indifferently as Lida left, then went to the window to observe her departure. Soon she disappeared from his sight, then the man, glowing with happiness, grabbed his phone and jumped out of the apartment, dialing the number of his mistress on the way.
"Move in with me today," he said while walking along the street, his voice filled with excitement. "I've been waiting for this moment for so long. I don't want to waste another day without you."
A motorcycle suddenly rounded the corner, striking Hector and sending him crashing to the ground, unconscious.
Meanwhile, Lida took a taxi to her friend's apartment. Lena worked at the hospital and wasn't home that evening, but she had told Lida where to find the spare keys.
Lida spent the night alone in her friend's apartment, her mind racing with thoughts of the previous evening's events. She couldn't sleep, her tears and anguish consuming her.
At 9 a.m., Lida's phone rang. It was Lena.
"Hey, Lena. When are you coming back? Please come home soon before I lose my mind," Lida pleaded.
"Don't worry, I'll be there soon. But first, there's something I need to tell you," Lena said gently.
"What is it?" Lida asked, her voice filled with fear.
"Hector was brought to our hospital last night with severe injuries. He is in critical condition. He was hit by a motorcyclist."
Lida was stunned by her friend's words. With a trembling voice, she began to ask Lena for details. Unable to bear it, she then dressed and went to the hospital to sort everything out herself...
