MY STEP-BY-STEP BLUEPRINT:

1. REMOVE NEGATIVE ITEMS
If you have inaccurate items such as hard inquiries, collection accounts, chargeoff accounts, repos, bankruptcies, etc, you will want to dispute these accounts by sending letters to the creditors, credit reporting agencies, Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

2. ADD POSITIVE ACCOUNTS
If you do not have at least 5 positive accounts in good standing, you will want to add accounts such as: Self, Kikoff, Tomocredit, RentReporters, a bank secured credit card, and a bank secured personal loan. You can do steps 1 and 2 simultaneously.

3. ADD AUTHORIZED USER TRADELINES
Once all of your positive accounts have reached 1 year in age, you can add 1-3 authorized user (AU) tradelines that are at least 10+ years old to increase your average age of credit history prior to applying for funding.

4. APPLY FOR PERSONAL FUNDING
Once the AU tradelines report on your credit, you can apply for personal funding (personal credit cards, loans and lines of credit) with credit unions and banks.
