Silver Surfer released on NES in November 1990! This side scroller/top down game is one of the most notorious ‘Nintendo hard’ games. There’s no shame in using a Game Genie code or built in password to play it!

Use of game codes was commonplace in the 90s, and trading secrets with friends on the playground that you acquired from Nintendo Power, EGM, guides, the Secret Video Game Tricks show, or luck was exciting!

Game Genie itself “patches” game program codes to modify or unlock game features such as infinite lives or ammo, or invulnerability. Some games, like Silver Surfer and Konami games like Contra, have built in codes.

Silver Surfer has fun music and 8-bit cutscenes, but the need to never stop attacking and that every single thing hurts you is rough! I doubt I’ll ever beat it without the KJTTJK invincibility code, but if you can, well, all I can say is that you’re a Wizard! 🩵
