The BC-1X is part of Boss’s next-generation X range of stomp boxes, powered by their state-of-the-art multi-dimension processing, or MDP, digital processor.

Cosmetically, these new X range of pedals are very similar to every other Boss pedal. They’ve got the same high quality housing, come supplied with a 5 year warranty and they run off a 9v battery or optional power supply, the only really giveaway that there’s something a little special about them is this lovely shiny control plate and chrome knobs.It’s under the hood where the real differences are, as they feature a digital DSP as opposed to analog circuitry. The BB-1X Bass Driver is more than just a bass overdrive pedal, it’s a complete bass pre-amp, delivering a wide range of tones from natural cleans to heavily distorted tones.

The powerful, real time processor adapts to the way you play, reacting depending on dynamics and register, whilst preserving the body and core tone of your bass. As you turn up the gain, the BB-1X maintains playing dynamics and delivers a transparent, high definition distortion, without muffling any of the tone like a lot of conventional bass overdrives do.

There’s controls for output volume, gain and high and low EQ, each with a really wide sweep allowing for a huge range of tonal options. There’s also a blend control for adjusting the mix between wet and dry signal, and a separate line output which has been specially tuned and optimised for connecting straight into the PA system.
