Snapshot Review: Porsche Cayenne

When Porsche announced it would be entering into the premium SUV market, few knew what to expect. After all, the company was more associated with sporty two seaters, than go-anywhere 4x4s. The result though, is a car with all the dynamic attributes expected of Porsche, matched with the practicality and comfort of an SUV.

There's a wide selection of engines on offer, including a hybrid model, a performance based version or a more frugal pair of diesels. Despite having off-road toys, the Cayenne is definitely more set up for on road use, with a firm suspension and agile handling. Inside, it's business as usual for Porsche, with a well laid out cabin which is littered with buttons and controls.

It may take some getting used to which buttons do what though. It's not as spacious as rivals, and only available as a five seater, but all in all, this is a very well packaged, yet pricey, offering to the premium 4x4 market.
