NRMA's Peter Khoury says even though Australia does not import Russian oil, "we are obviously going to be impacted" by the UK and US' recent ban on Russian oil imports.

"Oil trades globally and so anytime something happens globally then the price is impacted and we've seen this throughout history," he told Sky News Australia.

"Unfortunately what we are seeing with this catastrophic invasion of Ukraine has been a continuation on the increase in prices."
