Taiwanese culture has a rich tea culture. Brought by Han Chinese immigrants, Maokong area used to be a major producer of teas. There are still a few families who grow tea here and you can hike a few tea plantation. Better yet, get a tour or tea tasting session with a tea master to learn more about the history, culture, how to properly brew them and to simply enjoy a nice hot cup of tea overlooking gorgeous view of Taipei.
