Cement Raw Materials Grinding Process (Raw Mill System) _ English Version.
Raw Mill System is a system for grinding raw materials in the form of raw materials, into raw meal as feed in the combustion process or Kiln system.
In the Milling Process of this raw material, we will explain it in the form of pictures and videos to make it easier to understand.
We will explain the cement raw materials that are ground in the Raw Mill system, and what types of equipment are used in the raw material milling process.
Raw materials in the cement production process consist of 4 components, including: Limestone, Silica, Clay, and Iron ore.
Then, from these 4 components of raw materials, with certain compositions are simultaneously entered into the process of grinding the raw materials to a fineness of 12 to 14% on a 90 micron sieve, and moisture content less then 1%.
And the raw meal product is put in a Silo, which is prepared for the combustion process in the Kiln system.
The main equipment used in the raw material milling process is of 2 types, including: Tube Mill and Vertical Roller Mill.
Tube Mill or Horizontal Mill, Tube Mill is a steel cylinder, which inside is lined with a liner and filled with steel balls, as a grinding medium.
The material milling process occurs due to the rotation of the mill and the impact of the steel ball and the friction effect between the steel ball or the liner.
And next, the Vertical Roller Mill, is a milling machine in which there are 3 to 6 rollers and a table as a grinding medium. The grinding process occurs because of the pressure from the roller to the material above the rotating table.
Then, the material that has been milled in the Mill is pulled to the Separator, to be separated between coarse and fine materials. The coarse material is returned to the mill for re-milling and the fine material is as the product.
